SOUNDBOKS FAQs

Why is SOUNDBOKS conducting this recall?

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, SOUNDBOKS is voluntarily recalling the SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) speaker because the speaker’s lithium-ion battery may overheat under certain circumstances, posing a fire hazard. The speakers with the affected batteries were sold between November 1, 2021 and February 2, 2022.

Is the speaker itself affected?

No. The issue relates only to the removable battery pack. Your speaker is still safe to use with SOUNDBOKS batteries purchased outside of this time period.

Have there been incidents reported?

No. There have been no incidents reported.

If there have been no incidents, why is SOUNDBOKS recalling this product?

SOUNDBOKS learned that there was a manufacturing error, and though there have been no incidents reported, we cannot rule out the possibility of a fire hazard. As a result, SOUNDBOKS decided to conduct this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.
